Hobel: more red fruits, cherry and plum, with almost resolved but still big tannins.

Maybach: more black/blue fruits, blueberries and other dark berries, silkier more plush tannins.

Always fun to compare likevintage, different vineyards/labels bottles.

Sounds like the Hobel would drink well and cellar for several more years given the big tannins. I was just curious which one you liked best?

Hit up some 2015 Brunello at Costco today

I actually have #2 2010 Valdicava bottles and #2 2015 Ciacci Piccolomini Brunellos "ON THE WAY" according to K&L. Only trouble is that they have been "on the way" for like 6 months. They keep swearing that they will get them in time, but not sure how much longer I should wait. This happen to anyone else here from K&L??

Very nice sir! Happy anniversary! I’ve got a couple bottles of 2000 Lynch Bages left and some 01 & 03 Chat Gloria that I should pull out for the holidays. - Enjoy

I will be sure to do some tasting notes. Really hoping restaurants will open back up here. I’ll take the Lynch and MB with us if they do.

Second that, “restaurants” opening again. Definitely miss that. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on those beautiful bottles that you have there.

Can't compete with you real wine connoisseurs but this is one I picked up at the local liquor store. It was a "Staff Pick". Light mineral finish in the Bordeaux style.

Magnum of Clape Cornas. I read some mixed reviews about the ‘06 on CellarTracker, the general consensus was it isn’t ready but I wanted to try it so I double decanted it last night. The oak is still quite integrated but the spices and meaty flavours are there and it was a pleasure to drink. A big hit at the dinner table.

This one is local to me (actually, more local to @JScott). A bit of sweetness up front which gave way to more tannins after the first few sips, then some spiciness on the back end. 10 years in the bottle. Paired very well with a simple rare-side-of-medium-rare short rib steak, sauteed white mushrooms, and cornbread.
