I gotta admit, I'm getting frustrated. I am cleaning with magic eraser, two hours later only 3 barrels done, and most will need another round of cleaning. Pictures later.

I tried dawn dish soap and oxiclean in hot water scrubbed with a stiff brush and it did nothing. I then used magic eraser it worked but chewed up the sponge on just several chip. Also didn't quite get all the yellow out of the hats. Searched the garage for a polish and found some mothers finishing polish. It worked great, got all the yellow out without much effort. Chips don't look faded or have taken any damage. I'm assuming any fine polish would work well. Good call @boltonguy

I have just finished cleaning 200 in Dawn Clear and warm water. Used the common Kitchen Scrubber and got all the Yellow off.

I dried each one with a White Towel with preassure and no yellow.

Now flattening them with the Heating Pad.

Will have to do again as the chips are not Bright Pink.

I'll try some of the above. Do this polish leave a residue on the Inlays?

i would say the ultra cut is most abrasive, maybe start with a finishing compound and if it fails then and move up the ladder in cutting strength. just like detailing your car.

EDITED

To be fair I am not familiar with Meguiars cutting strength I typically use Menzerna

Actually now you guys gut me thinking if clay bar might not be the answer to quick work and getting in all the nooks an crannies

After trying tsp in the ultra sonic, dawn in the ultra sonic and a couple other things I can say the mothers scratch remover cuts that yellow off like butter. Probly gonna keep going with that. Side note the ultrasonic at 50 degrees celcius actually flattened some of the chips

Is the yellow on the towel old staining? Or does it come from the chips?

I was talking to my neighbor this morning about devising a method that involves a cutting compound, drill attachment and plywood holes to hold the chips in place with something to keep them from spinning. Thinking about using an appropriate sized hole saw to cut the holes across the entire piece of plywood, get the compound on the pad with the drill and go to town. I don’t see why it wouldn’t get the job done if the speed on the drill is controlled. Just dip it into a bucket of water when the pad has too much film on it, and go to town with the compound again.

Anybody see any flaws in this process? Gonna have to try it later today.

@Ocharacato I told you compound was going to come up lol Had a feeling it would do very well at this, even if it comes at the cost of a micro portion of the chip being scrubbed off, it wouldn’t be noticeable.

No pink. That I can see. Really digging the mothers scratch remover. It makes the edges more uniform in color.
