Roller coasters with my wife (and son, when he can be with us)! We’re in our mid-40’s now, and I plan to be riding with my grandkids.

Being on vacation...on the bike is what makes me happy. This was in June on the Tail of the Dragon in NC/TN

Man, were you on the wrong bike. Or maybe not, considering how much cop attention the Dragon gets these days...

p.s.: Over here, in southern France, every D road is like the Dragon, but much longer...

But as to the original question:

1. Dark chocolate.

2. Profiteroles made with dark chocolate and excellent French Vanilla ice cream..

3. Profiteroles made with dark chocolate and raspberry ice cream.

May have been on the wrong bike for that stretch of road, although it was the perfect bike for the 5,000km to get there! The Goldwing is actually sportier than it looks, YouTube Yellow Wolf if you wanna see a goldwing destroy that road (though I'm not nearly that skilled). The wife and I are hoping to fly to Europe someday and ride some roads in the Alps.

I hate that road.

Of course, the only time I was on it was in a minivan

It's a great stretch of road, though there are many other roads in the area that are just as good. Up here the roads are straight and flat, so it's great to get some curves

You'd have loved the road we were on yesterday afternoon!

The bad part is that I'm driving a Fiat 500 rental -- the *big* one -- over here:

The good part was that we had to take a very old "D" road (D22) north of Cahors, France, for about 45 km yesterday. It was all down one mountain and up the next, complete with twisties and first-gear switchbacks, and lots of them.

The nasty part was that while the pavement was in great shape, it was only about 8 feet wide, with zero shoulders -- rock wall on one side most of the way, drop-off on the other. A foot or so wider than that parking space above. So when another car came the opposite way, it was "jam on the brakes and pray" time.

There are a lot of narrow "D" roads in France, but this one was clearly made for only one car (or farm machine) at a time. Somehow we made it unscathed...

The French clearly don't want people using the "A" roads (Autoroutes) for local traffic, so exits are positioned 15-20KM north or south of the cities...

Small world. My best friend's house was right next to DC, on Nightingale. If you see a house there, with a white picket fence - you are looking at my old stomping ground. Recorded our first 2 albums there. Oh the memories, and The nights we'd rather forget....
