Loving it dude.
Some inspiration for the $1 / $5 / $25 from art we have, thought you’d like:

Hey @Kam Just read through the whole thread. Loving it. Learning a lot from your journey. At first I thought you were dead set on CPC, but then saw how you discovered the classifieds. Yeah those are dangerous. Cool to see your progress and how you are just about there. Excited to see the finished product.

First label proofs shared from @Gear

Glad I listened to at least some of the expert feedback regarding finer lines and what colors/definitions come through on the labels.

@Gear did some more color corrections, primarily lightening up some black lines and adjusting other colors that didn’t show that well when printed.

Before on left, After on right:

Did you go with YFT or BFT? I still can't tell the difference with those two Tunas.

Yellowfin Tuna, since I’ve only caught yellowfin in the 20lb-30lb size, which is the more common ‘schoolie’ tuna we get. The bluefin are typically bigger and can be more finicky, see them at the dock from overnight trips that come in, can be 100-200lb+, either night fishing or with a flying fish kite setup to catch the cows. Maybe will try that one day.

Other pics for what we can catch on a good day in late summer:

Nice. I'm assuming out of San Diego. Caught my first YFT out of San Diego on a 3 day trip. Most of the time we head out to Baja for our fishing. Wait, is there a fishing thread on here?

Not sure, there are a few members who go big and often for fishing - maybe a thread but good luck trying to find it searching with ‘fish’ on this forum ;)

Almost done with removing 2,000 labels off 1,000+ chips. A few barrels to go.

It’s been an experience… Definitely went better using a sharp Exacto knife than the other blades I tried. Also having a movie or TV shows on whilst doing it and trying not to rush made it better vs getting frustrated by the russian roulette of labels that don’t come off easily.

Also preferred these Xuron pliers out of the couple small needle nose/ jewellery ones I tried:

I found using a dropper with a ‘less is more’ approach on the NPR and letting it soak for 1-3 seconds only was enough for most. Also wished I didn’t try to fight every label without the NPR, makes it go so much faster once you get a rhythm going.

@Gear labels arrive tomorrow!

Giving some of the chips that seen more live play a bit of a light clean to spruce ‘em up before the labelling ceremony.

Also realized that not all acetone free NPR is created equal. I finished my first NPR bottle and found a few barrels of IG 5s that still needed some troublesome partial labels removed. Bought this from Target, and it was the definition of weak sauce (don’t recommend):

It’s been a busy week at the @Wifey sweatshop.

2 racks of 1s almost done. Thank god putting the labels on is a breeze compared to inlay removal.

Labels are excellent quality, love the feel. Easy to repeel/remove off the chip and put back on. Only issue is the inlay indent/milled surface isn’t always concentric or circular, but able to make it work.

They look much better in daylight, but here’s some pics with artificial light:

You're aligning all of them to the edge spots? I only like to do this for 30-50% of them, the rest I go random.
Yeah, I went back and forth on the decision to be honest. Think I actually prefer the way the original IG is orientation wise, c’est la vie.

Have another 120 or so still to do today, maybe will mix it up.

The biggest reason that I actually prefer random over aligned is that the edge spots already are random in comparison to the molds. I think it looks strange when the label has the same orientation to the spots when the hats/canes are everywhere.

This one, it’s a live chip, or was… Randomly found a rack on the classifieds, fit perfect for my set for colors and spot progression so picked it up. I then put out a wanted and got someone to harvest another rack for me :)
