This is what happens when you ask everybody in your poker club to keep their eyes open. You send them a picture, you tell them exactly what to look for, and your little soldiers go out and get the job done.

... Or it could be because I control all the money in their accounts, and I can start investing it in Bitcoin at any moment. Either way you cut it, they found this for me!

I’m off work next week too! Any day works, but Tues and Thur would have to be after 8pm my time.

Maybe Wednesday evening then (12/28) ? I'm continuing my recent Christmas day tradition of going absolutely nowhere and being liquored up by noon, so I'll probably need a couple days to recover lol. If we do say 10pm eastern / 7pm pacific?

Anyone else want to join the fun? Knob Creek 12 year / 15 year / 18 year flight? @wolfpack

I think that will work. My wife is planning to host a dinner with friends and it might be that Wednesday. But I’ll know soon.

You should buy a 2nd bottle. ;)

It’s very good. Spicier than I expected. I’ll want to compare it to the Blue Spot.

The nose is clove, baking spice, butterscotch, and warm bread.

Palate is sugar cookie, vanilla, raisins, and some wine notes coming through. It’s really deep and dark.

To me, it’s like Blue Spot and Red Spot had a baby.
Really interesting notes especially considering how it's so much lighter in color and lower in proof than the red or blue respectively. I can't wait to open it up.

Trigger pulled.

I shall not open the new one until the original for my celebratory date, and I'll likely bunker it for years, but I'll admit I am glad to be able to open celebrate with, and potentially kill the bottle of gold spot without worrying about having to replace it in part of the collection.

must not be from michigan, we don’t have lotteries
Here in Iowa, when a store gets a hard-to-find bottle, they often have a drawing. You fill out a slip, drop it in the box, and they call you when if your name is drawn. Sometimes they have an event, where you get to buy whatever is available when your number is called, but that usually happens in larger cities.

In north central Indiana, when a store gets a unicorn bottle, they either price it above secondary, or they price it WAY above secondary. And taters buy them all.

More money than brains or knowledge. I've seen them in person. Store owner shows them a "rare" bottle they've never seen, with a way above msrp (or secondary) price, and they just shrug, hand over the $$, and take it home. Case in point, Blanton's SFTB for $550 plus tax. Nikka 21yr for $700 plus tax. I could go on. I'm surprised that Kentucky Owl Dry State for $1000 (which is MSRP) is still at the store, but it is a different store one town over and maybe there are a lot fewer taters over there.
