Last night, great wine.

Those are particularly interesting flight delivery boards. They are dependent on the bowl shape and stem length of the glasses, but in theory, you could set all four glasses down without touching them and withdraw the board in a single motion.

I believe they use all the same glasses for tasting but they had an impressive array of proper Riedel varietal glassware.

Just enjoyed a Ridge 2017 Geyserville with some double thick ribeye steaks. Damn good.

Up for Thanksgiving is a Roserock 2022 Pinot Noir. The same one from WS top 6 wines. Whatever...lol

Also have a 2014 Domaine de la Cote Pinot Noir, the same bottle from the documentary SOMM III that challenged some top Burgundy Pinot Noir's. Should be a fun Thanksgiving!!

I'm actually jealous. I grew up near there. I didn't think I'd see a Lompoc wine posted here. Please post a follow up of how it aged!

Yes! Dang, more memories...

Geyserville was the first Ridge I ever tasted, on a business trip back around 1983, a 1974 at North Beach restaurant -- in, of all places, San Francisco's North Beach.. Ol' Sam Yourty was there that night too. (I was told he was a regular.)

Went back the next night for a bottle of Lytton Springs, and was hooked for life. Their Z List and ATP (Advanced Tasting Program) subscriptions have been consistently outstanding. There have never been fewer than 100 Ridge bottles in the house since that trip. There is no doubt that Ridge Zins and Cahors Malbecs are my favorite wines.

BTW, every Ridge's rear label includes a "Best Through" date, but those dates are very, very conservative. We've never had a disappointment.

Enjoyed this phenomenal wine tonight…

2018 Phase V Petite Sarah, Davis Estates

It went so well with the New Years Spread…
Cesar Salad, Mac and Cheese, American Wagu filets, Crab legs and lobster tails…

Whew …

@MatB nice ton

likely more about how the bottle was stored over the years. Could also be issues with the cork. I've stored multiple bottles of the same brand/vintage for years in proper conditions and sometimes it is a crap shoot.
I may have jumped the gun a bit. It’s opening up. Was a rough start with the server. He broke cork in half, I took over with a ah-so and extracted intact. He then proceeded to try and decant by turning the bottle completely upside down to fill
