Has anyone had plum wine with their sushi? Holy shit game changer for me....had it @ NOBU in Las Vegas, unreal sushi, unreal pairing!

Well this was a pleasant surprise, found in the back of the wine fridge. Likely should have been drank 5 years ago, but was nicely integrated with green pepper, little mushroom, and subtle fruit notes still.

We've got some wagyu tenderloin tomorrow, baked potato, and some broccolini. Pairing with a 2010 Valdicava brunello

We are drinking a 2010 Kathryn Kennedy now and enjoying it! That brunello will be a nice choice to cut the fat of the wagyu (even tenderloin). We’ve got ribeyes (more fat) going.

I would gladly drink nothing but that Ridge for the rest of my life ... and I just ordered another case of that Gruner.

FYI 17% alc is not a great starting point for grape juice, I mean wine.

The Bussola was fantastic

$30 to $90 budget.
We don’t drink a lot and only know what we like after we try it.

Wasn’t sure if there were some obvious ‘if you like that then you’d definitely like this ‘ recommendations.

Not off hand to me. I would suggest downloading the app “Vivino” then search the wine you liked. They will pop similar wines in that grape varietal.
