Problem is it usually sells out within a day or two of appearing so i guess I'm not the only one who stocks up. The normal version is also decent at the price but the BIB is the better buy if both are available.

Wanted to double up on this recommendation. Absolutely terrific for <$35!
It really is a great value. I recommend it to a lot of folks just getting into bourbon that don’t want to spend $50+.
It's been said a few times in this thread already, but my go-to cheap whiskey is WT101.
There's lots of better whiskey out there, but it's really tough to find better bang for the buck. I use this for Old Fashioneds by the pitcher when I host - the rest of the bottle goes on the bar and doesn't usually last too long.

Yes. In my opinion SB is better than the bonded but others disagree. In fact I poured BT next to SB and none of my bourbon snob friends could tell the difference.

Why is Russell's 10 yr so cheap? Is it just because it's only 90 proof, or is it not particularly good?
It's good for what it is. Remember, Eagle Rare is also 10yrs at 90 proof, and is supposed to be this price!

It’s subjective, of course. If you’re not used to drinking 80+ proof, it may taste and feel like nail polish remover to you. Some of us have found we like the higher proof stuff neat. Some people like to add ice or water. If you don’t like it, share it with friends who do. Or try an old fashioned. Or mix it with Dr Pepper. I don’t care.
But bourbons typically have flavors/aromas of cherry, vanilla, caramel, etc. Again, it’s all subjective.
