Dammit, didn't realize this was the cheapest whiskey thread (most likely because I'm like 8 cheapo jack and cokes deep....), my bad lol.FYP. If you're going to splurge and add Alberta, might as well go all the way lol

It’s very good for the price. Supposedly, Brown Forman’s replacement after selling Early Times to Sazerac.Been on the lookout for this one for a while. Excited to try it.

I’m a big fan of “good for the price”.It’s very good for the price. Supposedly, Brown Forman’s replacement after selling Early Times to Sazerac.
100%. Old Granddad's Bottle in Bond is perfect for me, thats my hosting bourbon for people that dont care what they get lol.I’m a big fan of “good for the price”.
I don’t have a Costco near me, but sister works at one. I’ll have her grab a bottle for me. Thanks for the heads up!The Kirkland 1792 BIB Bourbon has become my go to cheap-but-still-good bourbon at $24/liter. https://thewhiskystudy.com/reviews-1/kirkland-signature-bottled-in-bond-bourbon
Problem is it usually sells out within a day or two of appearing so i guess I'm not the only one who stocks up. The normal version is also decent at the price but the BIB is the better buy if both are available.
Been on the lookout for this one for a while. Excited to try it.

I’ve seen some comments that the Full Proof is good, but I’m always in the lookout for a good inexpensive sipper. I’ll grab one.Buy the bonded. I have the full proof.
It really is a great value. I recommend it to a lot of folks just getting into bourbon that don’t want to spend $50+.Wanted to double up on this recommendation. Absolutely terrific for <$35!

Gift pack with 375ml each of Rabbit Hole Cavehill and Heigold for $30.
Is this worth picking up? I've never had any of the Rabbit Hole offerings.

It's good for what it is. Remember, Eagle Rare is also 10yrs at 90 proof, and is supposed to be this price! Why is Russell's 10 yr so cheap? Is it just because it's only 90 proof, or is it not particularly good?

I got a bottle for Christmas from someone who clearly doesn’t know me. I can’t even take a small sip. Real question- what is good whiskey supposed to feel/taste like? Why is Russell's 10 yr so cheap? Is it just because it's only 90 proof, or is it not particularly good?

It’s subjective, of course. If you’re not used to drinking 80+ proof, it may taste and feel like nail polish remover to you. Some of us have found we like the higher proof stuff neat. Some people like to add ice or water. If you don’t like it, share it with friends who do. Or try an old fashioned. Or mix it with Dr Pepper. I don’t care.I got a bottle for Christmas from someone who clearly doesn’t know me. I can’t even take a small sip. Real question- what is good whiskey supposed to feel/taste like?
