The cheap whiskey thread (2 Viewers)

Dammit, didn't realize this was the cheapest whiskey thread (most likely because I'm like 8 cheapo jack and cokes deep....), my bad lol.

The Kirkland 1792 BIB Bourbon has become my go to cheap-but-still-good bourbon at $24/liter. https://thewhiskystudy.com/reviews-1/kirkland-signature-bottled-in-bond-bourbon
Problem is it usually sells out within a day or two of appearing so i guess I'm not the only one who stocks up. The normal version is also decent at the price but the BIB is the better buy if both are available.
I don’t have a Costco near me, but sister works at one. I’ll have her grab a bottle for me. Thanks for the heads up!

It's been said a few times in this thread already, but my go-to cheap whiskey is WT101.

There's lots of better whiskey out there, but it's really tough to find better bang for the buck. I use this for Old Fashioneds by the pitcher when I host - the rest of the bottle goes on the bar and doesn't usually last too long.

I got a bottle for Christmas from someone who clearly doesn’t know me. I can’t even take a small sip. Real question- what is good whiskey supposed to feel/taste like?
It’s subjective, of course. If you’re not used to drinking 80+ proof, it may taste and feel like nail polish remover to you. Some of us have found we like the higher proof stuff neat. Some people like to add ice or water. If you don’t like it, share it with friends who do. Or try an old fashioned. Or mix it with Dr Pepper. I don’t care. :D

But bourbons typically have flavors/aromas of cherry, vanilla, caramel, etc. Again, it’s all subjective.
