I suspect that somebody snagged all $500s immediately, then went back and ordered whatever else they needed to justify the percentages.

Just another reason I really dislike this format for selling chips that are in short supply. Works great only if ample quantities are available for everybody.

The paypal not being able to do percentages is what kinda ruins it.. Jim has a great plan in place, and Paypal is the thing that screws things up by allowing that to happen

Maybe. They were limited to max 200 of the five-hundo chips, though, and I have to imagine there were a lot more than that. I just think people knew what they wanted and within a minute or two they had locked and loaded and checked out.

maximizing percentages:

qty denom
100 x 0.25
200 x 0.50
900 x 1 + 5 combined
300 x 25
300 x 100
200 x 500
------
2000 chips, $2010

qty denom
50 x 0.25
100 x 0.50
350 x 1 + 5 combined
200 x 25
200 x 100
100 x 500
------
1000 chips, $1035

I like the first breakdown. If I had 2k to spare and if these quarters were a prettier color, I'd have strongly considered it.

Within the first minute $500's weren't available so I am thinking enough people were smart enough to just buy the $500's and check out with them before going after any other chips is why they disappeared as fast as they did... I was quick, REAL quick, had my entire order ready to checkout within a minute, but by the time I changed quantities of other chips the $500's were gone.

My personal Native Lights set will be:

100 - 0.25
200 - $1
200 - $5
80 - $25
20 - $100

But I had to buy 2000 chips to get my 100 quarters so there will be lots of $1's and $5's for sale in classifieds soon LOL

What's frustrating is that for maybe $300-$400 in web-dev. costs, he could have a custom cart system implemented that lets him control/manipulate the percentages for each sale run. *sigh*

I tried that first one and it was sold out within seconds. Tried to go back and add more $1/$5 and then realized after I checked out that the quarters didn't save, and missed on those too. Hate that I had to do it from a hotel room too. The whole thing just felt...wrong from the start.

Native secondaries first probably. Then Tonkawa. I hope he located the Tonkawa quarters, I like those.

I hope that is not what happened.....if it did, that person should be banned for throwing off all subsequent orders:mad:

At some point, probably after the 1st hour or so , we'll will make a post to remove the limits.
This may help a bit, although some denominations will already be sold out at that point.

nah. As long as your final order meets the percentage requirements, that's fair. Just a smart shortcut.

I might not have thought it through completely. I'm not sure the quantities update after checkout is complete or once they've been added to a cart. I was thinking that maybe someone added 5000 500's to their cart and thus not allowing anyone else to get any. I'm not sure how all this works...just bummed like many others who missed out on fracs and the 500's:(

I was thinking the same, but who would be dumb enough to add 1000+ $500's knowing that Jim would cancel their entire order ?

The max you could've ordered would be 200, so in this scenario we're talking about a situation where someone went in and just ordered thousands of $500s to block them out.

Yeah that would be dirty. I was just thinking somebody bought their rack of $500's then went back and bought other stuff.

I was actually going to do this, even posted about it a few days ago. Should've kept my mouth shut:x

We do not allow that. It must be in one order
