Just saying, Angel *might* have been number one if that was an option in the poll. I guess we'll never know....
IMHO Angel would never make it to the "favorite cards" list because they are very obscure and hard to source. Amazon Japan is the only source I know of. Once players get a chance to use them they are very nice cards. They seem like a more refined version of KEM w/o warping issues and not quite as limp but still pretty thin. The price is fantastic at around $5/deck but shipping is expensive.

I wouldn’t even know, because people seem to love the Angel Club Pokers, but I’ve never been lucky enough to handle those. I have handled the Angel Aristos (which I assume are different?) which definitely feel nice, but aren’t for me due to different finishes on fronts and backs.

So the final results are in. Copag #2 and being ahead of Desjgn is a total shock IMHO. (I attribute it to marketing vs quality). Given the forums love affair with Desjgn (me included), I thought they would have been #1. I've gotten quite fond of Fournier but surprised they made it to #1 by such a large margin. They aren't even a card that's easy to buy or well marketed IMHO. I'm not too surprised with KEM at #4. Either you love them or hate them.

Still searching for the perfect cards and old obsolete "thinner" Desjgns were almost perfection. (especially if they were bridge size)
Fournier are fantastic cards but also benefit from the recency bias of @VMR911 's big groupbuy, lots of new setups in hands. Those cards are fan-tastic, love them!

Ouch. No votes for Gemaco
I have become quite fond of them recently. The designs are nice, pips are nice and bold (almost on par with Copag), and the thickness and shuffle are right in the sweet spot for me yet they don't seem to bend too much. Fantastic cards.

Is there a chance that on the next favorite card poll we exclude Old State and RagahRagah from commenting?
If that happened every time people got into arguments here there wouldn't be much posting going on in some of these forums.

I've been a big KEM fan, it is my preferred but I havent experienced all of these yet. I just ordered Dejsign so we will see. I have a deep hatred for copag, they seem far less quality than kem, but are cheaper so I see a lot of card rooms use them. Where is the best place to find Fournier? I remember trying to find some at one point and it seems fairly difficult, so wondering if that has changed by chance.

The Five Star line is very very cheap and will bow. The Superflex line is fine but I find the artwork and the yellow ink they use very ugly. They are on stiffer side of the spectrum but playable. Superflex is the only non Kem card I’ve ever seen used in a casino. Harrahs and Borgata (at least at one time) used them for tournaments.

They seem durable to me but a tournament dealer at Harrahs complained that the ink chipped with heavy usage. Someone had made a comment that half of a A on an ace was rubbed off or missing. That was the dealers response.

I need your opinion!

I can't choose between these 3 setups. All are Fournier. I like the back of the 2826 but they have the security red. The Arabesco have the "normal" red and I love the back. But I find that there is not enough contrast.. always afraid of errors when the two decks are in play. The FdL also have the normal red but I like the back less.. but the contrast is there.

I have the middle set. Doesn’t cause any issues….but I rarely do two decks on the table at once. The first option looks the classiest and I’ve never had anyone complain about security red ink. I actually think it looks classier from an aesthetic standpoint. I’d own those if I could get them in the US easily.

I like the middle Arabesco set as well

I think I have a new favorite. I found a NOS set of these Fournier Congress cards. They handle and look great. They're not quite as stiff as the 2012 WSOP Fourniers but aren't as limp as KEM. They are also significantly thinner than 2012 WSOP Fourniers. They're just about right. I have no idea if they're still sold. Are new Fourniers like the 2012 WSOP stock or like the Congress card stock?

My new favorite are the Faded Spade Old School setup they have now. I love the old art with the stiffer cards, my biggest complaint was the weird modern art style faded spades have had. Now I can have the feel, and art that I actually enjoy.

Up until this point, Fournier has been my go-to, and they are still amazing

You know, Angel acetate cards are so incredibly rare because you need a casino license to purchase them, and only minor casinos in remote regions actually bother to get them in play.

We have a few casino license holders among us. So why don't I have NAGB cards in my hand yet??????

I've had every brand of cards noted on this list except for the Desjgn and Faded Spade. Those Desjgn cards look absolutely sick. I'll have to get a set of those.

The Gemaco Compass cards from a few years back always seemed to be my favorite design, although I had a set of Modiano Bike Trophy 4-PIP cards that lasted me a good 7 years. That was my favorite set from a sentimental standpoint. They lasted all those years of overseas travel in the most desolate places in the world and playing until 4:00 am in the morning. They finally had to be retired when some drunk dropped the 7 of diamonds on the ground and scraped it up with his shoe and scratched the back of the card.

These are the Modiano Bike Trophy 4-PIP cards that survived 7 years of brutal card playing before finally meeting their end.

I have a setup of DaVincis that are the same as Modiano I believe. I never use them because I remember feeling they weren’t that premium feeling. Went back to them the other night and they aren’t too bad. I may order a setup like yours with the jumbo index. I used to HATE jumbo but now several of my players can’t see regular index! The last thing I need is more cards but I only have a few jumbo setups.

I am currently very fond of Dal Negro, they beat Modiaano all the way

A couple of points about the DaVinci cards. I did buy the same Bike Trophy cards from Amazon under the DaVinci name around 2016-17. They were different quality from what I remember. When I used them the back coloring faded a lot faster than my previous set that I'd used for 7 years (heavy use might I add). Those faded cards might still be around and I might be able to take a picture of what I'm describing. I'd have to go back and buy another set of these since for years I couldn't find the 4-PIP version of the Bike Trophy cards.

As for slippery, there was a deck of I believe 2015 WSOP Modiano cards that I purchased about 2 years ago. I finally got around to playing a few hands with them and they were a lot more slippery than decks I can remember. Those decks got put away and we decided to use a different set.

As for the jumbo index cards, I have very few of those too. Not really my cup of tea. Are Fournier cards mostly jumbo index? Does anybody know the answer to that?

This is my current collection. Bought the Kems several years ago and haven’t had any warping issues and do nothing special to store them beyond just putting them back in the box when I’m done. I’d definitely be frustrated if they were warped like others have experienced. They do shuffle a bit on the softer side but that’s ok with me. I recently added the two Copag sets. The middle set was on a whim looking at Amazon one night and the right set up was bought because I couldn’t find any IG cut cards in non bridge size

I’ll probably add another set of Kems in bridge size ultimately. I buy cheap Walgreen plastic cards when playing rummy or cribbage with my kids…

^ This. I initially checked off Fournier, Desjgn, and Bicycle (Prestige) prior to discovering I could only pick two choices.

The Prestige cards (especially the bridge-size variants) are excellent, although they suffer from premature wear on abrasive felts like SSC (nowhere near as bad as Copag, however).
Where can bicycle prestige bridge be purchased?
